Cynther System,
"Saleen"
System
The Cynther system is located deep in the Badlands and to
reach it requires a long, hard voyage even with modern
technologies. The system itself was
discovered and settled in the early days of exploration, when
starship puttered across the face of the galaxy, often with
nothing more than antimatter or fusion reactors and ionic
drives or antimatter rams. Eager, hardened explorers arrived
in the Cynther system, carved their niche on the face of the
moon Saleen, called for supplies from home, and silently went
to work building.

Several
supply missions were sent and several supply missions disappeared.
Rescue and recovery missions followed, with hardier new
technologies. Nothing was heard. |
It was finally determined that
the Badlands were not the place to be. Efforts in the sector
were quietly abandoned and the colonists mourned for lost. Any
survivors would be left on their own to make due as best they
could.

| Nineris |
Nineris
is a gas-giant that, in millennia past, wandered into a
near-sun orbit. Nineris has 6 large "Galilean"
moons and about 70 smaller moons, orbital debris, and
Langrangian asteroids. Nineris is orbited by the only
inhabited world in the system, her the moon Saleen. |

Cauldron |
A
densely packed, resource rich asteroid belt. As the
solar system formed and Nineris drifted slowly into its
near-sun orbit, the planets Cynther IV and V found
themselves in her path and were torn apart by her
gravity, while slowing her drift and allowing her to
settle into her present orbit. |

A
relatively loose asteroid belt at the fringes of the
system. |
