Ptatl Shivery
The Ptatl Shivery is located in
Twilight and predominantly
composed of the Ptatl.
The Shivery, like the Ptatl
themselves, is a performance
based government. Regional Governmental Colleges accept and train whatever
students wish to enroll, developing and ranking their abilities physically,
intellectually, emotionally, morally, and strategically. Students are
appointed to various government positions, from the lowest to highest, based
on their abilities and individual skill sets. The best candidate will
always fill the most appropriate position.
The government is run by the Prime Power assisted by a set
of Prime Ministers, all appointed by the Governmental College. Each Prime
Minister will oversee governmental activities in an appropriate area, from
law to infrastructure to the military to healthcare. The Prime Power will
direct the activities of the Prime Ministers and coordinate communication
with local governments.
Local governments, also appointed by the
Governmental College, consist of a High Power and High Ministers, who are
local equivalents of their Federal counterparts.
Military
The Ptatl maintain a coordinated starfleet and ground forces, in the
form of the Ministry of External Forces and the Ministry of Ground Forces,
who work together but who are administered and train separately.
Historically, they have tended to use Ptatl designed and built equipment,
though recently they have begun to purchase more advanced technologies from
outside sources, in particular the mega-corporations active in the
Prodigal Void like
Azatalath and
Tzar.
The Ptatl emphasize versatility in military design and
execution. They prefer carrier-concept ships that can dispense smaller craft
specifically configured for the task at hand. In addition to actual
carrier-role craft, their battleships, command craft, destroyers, and so on
are all heavily supplemented with highly configurable launch craft.
Exploration and Colonization
The Ptatl Shivery maintains an aggressive exploration and colonization
program through the Ministry of Exploration and Colonization. Though capable
of defending themselves, particularly in cooperation with the Ministry of
External Forces, they are not geared toward conquest, seeing more benefit in
establishing trade and cultural and technological exchange with other races.
