Moon
Deep in Badlands, a small moon known as
Saleen spins quietly around the gas giant Nineris. Saleen
was settled noisily by the galactic empires in the hopes
that a foothold could be established and the Badlands
tamed. Saleen was abandoned quietly by the galactic
empires in that hopes that no one would realize she was
too much for them, with the passionless knowledge that
those left behind were completely on their own.
Saleen is a hard planet populated by
hard people. Her lands are buckled by severe tectonics and
dotted with magma flows and hot geysers. Violent storms
cross her face almost daily. Even her dusky days and dark
nights and fractured by Nineris, with her daily eclipses.

People
Those who live on Saleen live in spite
of the odds. Survivors, one and all, that have carved
extreme and diverse ways of life on the face of an extreme
and diverse environment. By clinging to science, faith, or
madness, the people of Saleen have covered her surface and
crawled into her belly to create cities and empires like
none in the civilized galaxy.

Some have turned to science, devoutly
maintaining the technological relics of the past or
developing new and unique methods to survive, support, or
conquer. Some have turned to their peers and developed
strong, self-sustaining civilizations based on cooperation
and traditional values. Others have banded together with
sinister purpose and meld with the more well-meaning
citizens of the planet. Like the rest of the universe,
Saleen is rife with bloody conquest and dark intrigue as
her factions scrabble power, knowledge, and sometimes just
plain survival.

Saleen is a living planet. Things
change. Empires crumble, cities expand, and factions win
and lose control of the world around them. The citizens
will adapt to the goings on in the world around them,
following their own agendas and forming their own opinions
both personally and politically. In fact, the world itself
will adapt to the actions of its citizens, for no deed is
without its consequences.
Skills
There is no safety net, no simple class to
join and know that your destiny is laid out before you. The
world of Saleen is full of a diversity of skills and anyone can
learn them... for whatever purpose they have in mind. Some
skills are jealously guarded by those who have developed them
and can only be won through worthy action and trusts won. |

Quests
Quests are dynamic, changing
adventures. They are integrated into a living world where
things change, where people have motives, and things are
not always as they seem. Quests will be dynamically
generated based on the needs of a faction or personality
of an NPC.
It may seem to be a simple a simple matter to eliminate a
member from a group of bandits... but what if the bandits
start hiring other players to stop you? What if the bandit
offers you a reason and reward to join his group? What if
the bandit has found out you're coming and moved to a
different city... or laid a trap in expectation? What if
you could offer the quest to someone else to complete for
you... or assign quests and rewards of your own design? |
